One Vision. Three Pathways.

Buneen Group exists to end Indigenous disadvantage by rebuilding systems with cultural strength, bold leadership, and community-led design.

A Venn diagram with three overlapping circles labeled 'Workplaces,' 'Care,' and 'Governance.' The 'Workplaces' circle notes persistent gaps in employment and unsafe retention systems. The 'Care' circle mentions over-representation of Aboriginal children in out-of-home care. The 'Governance' circle discusses organizations struggling to embed cultural authority and strong systems.

Disadvantage is systemic

Disadvantage doesn’t exist in isolation. It shows up across care systems, workplaces, and governance — sustained by structures that were never designed with First Peoples at the centre.

Three pathways, one model of change

That’s why Buneen Group brings together three aligned, First Peoples-led entities. Each focuses on a different point of intervention — and together they form a pathway that strengthens lives and systems at every level.

Our Philosophy: Feel SAFE. Be BRAVE.

Lasting change doesn’t start with statements or policies — it starts with safety.

Organisations, communities, and individuals can’t step into growth if they don’t feel safe in who they are, in the systems around them, and in the environments they work and live in. That’s why the SAFE Method is our foundation. SAFE is where change begins, and it’s what we build into every project, partnership, and program.

  • Self — identity, reflection, and cultural integrity.

  • Action — commitments translated into measurable change.

  • Family — kinship, belonging, and intergenerational connection.

  • Environments — workplaces, systems, and Country designed for safety.

Once the foundations are SAFE, we can be BRAVE. BRAVE is where organisations, leaders, and communities step into accountability, truth-telling, and transformation.

  • Belonging — creating environments where people are celebrated, not tokenised.

  • Respect — cultural authority and protocols upheld.

  • Accountability — systems and leaders taking responsibility for outcomes.

  • Voice — truth-telling normalised and diverse voices prioritised.

  • Empowerment — people and communities equipped to lead into the future.

SAFE makes brave spaces possible. BRAVE makes transformation real. Together, they are more than a framework — they are the philosophy that drives all of Buneen Group’s work. From governance reform to workplace transformation, from children in care to boardrooms, SAFE + BRAVE ensures change is intentional, measurable, and sustainable.
